I'm a Long-Time Hobbiest

Hi. My name is Dawn. I'm a long-time hobbiest. We won't discus how long because you'd gasp. However, I've had freshwater fish-in-glass-cages since I was eight years old. Dad was a hobbiest, too, raising prize-winning show fish of several kinds, so I grew up with tanks upon tanks around the home. In fact, I still have one that's an antique show tank with half-inch thick glass, and, yes, the seals still hold as does the slate bottom. :D

How I Came to Aquabid.com

I started using the Net to buy my aquarium supplies in 2006 because the local fish store I'd been dealing with for years sold to a woman who turned it into a fish and pet store with her bottom line being her only motive. It's as bad for the fish there as the most notorious puppy mills you see busted in the U.S. I can't drive by the place after having seen the condition of the freshwater and marine animals, never mind the other pets in the place. I found this website from a recommendation on an aquarists' forum after frustration with other online live aquatic professional sites.
