Did anyone read the little segment on Thrash Metal in the new issue of Guitar World? Just curious, I miss some of the golden years of metal. Any fans out there who want to spaek their minds about the birth or the demise of true Thrash Metal?IP: Logged |

I really don't get the difference between Thrash, death, speed, black metal. Too many genres.IP: Logged |

Death metal has cookie monster vocals, and thrash is cool. okay that's just my opinion... IP: Logged |

Hey, I'm a big thrash fan...my faves are Metallica, Testament, Exodus, Voivod (pre-Newsted), old Sepultura, some Slayer, Flotsam and Jetsam...but its not the sole form of rock/metal imho...for instance I like regular metal a la Maiden, Pantera etc...but the replacement of thrash with death/nu metal annoys me...bands like Children of Bodom (death metal band) have AMAZING music...I mean really amazing, but the vocals are horrible. Same with a lot of power metal (e.g. Rhapsody).Thrash is definitely coming back though (e.g. Shadows Fall), and even Metallica have started nu thrash with St. Anger. Later, -Charles
