Did anyone read the little segment on Thrash Metal in the new issue of Guitar World?
Just curious, I miss some of the golden years of metal. Any fans out there who want to spaek their minds about the birth or the demise of true Thrash Metal?

I really don't get the difference between Thrash, death, speed, black metal. Too many genres.

Death metal has cookie monster vocals, and thrash is cool.

okay that's just my opinion...

Hey, I'm a big thrash fan...my faves are Metallica, Testament, Exodus, Voivod (pre-Newsted), old Sepultura, some Slayer, Flotsam and Jetsam...but its not the sole form of rock/metal imho...for instance I like regular metal a la Maiden, Pantera etc...but the replacement of thrash with death/nu metal annoys me...bands like Children of Bodom (death metal band) have AMAZING music...I mean really amazing, but the vocals are horrible. Same with a lot of power metal (e.g. Rhapsody).

Thrash is definitely coming back though (e.g. Shadows Fall), and even Metallica have started nu thrash with St. Anger.

Later,

-Charles
