When
first I saw Ben's work, I swore the images were
photographs...or perhaps photo montages. But, no, each
image is a hand-painted oil masterpiece of unique and
startling vision rendered by an artist whose technical
skill is only exceeded by his superior eye for design and
impact. Ben transforms the ordinary into the
extraordinary. Utilizing a bold, yet strangely warm starkness of color and density, then slyly and seamlessly weaving geometric statements into his paintings, Ben awakens and focuses our perceptions. Through his vision we view the seemingly commonplace differently...spiritually. He makes us "see deeply" by subtly tranforming ordinary into a super-enhanced reality that evokes an exotic and wonderful new awareness and understanding. Each painting captivates. Each one is a singular event, motive and emotive. When pressed, one has difficulty selecting a "favorite." Rather, one wants them all, an expensive proposition at $4000, $5000 and up per painting. But when queried as to the availability of prints or lithographs, Ben replies: "As my work attracts serious collectors, I produce only one of each work." And that is as it should be, considering the inherent quality of each of Ben's creations.
